Memory trick for Miercolees |
Well anyway this particular day is not going well, I had a meeting coming up that required some information that I thought would be in today's mail. But it wasn't.. And it was too late to not have the meeting. So the meeting time came and we started anyway. Then, without that essential ingredient, the first order of business was to reschedule.|
While the new meeting date is being discussed I hear, 'me air co lees' Which turns out to be Wednesday in Spanish and the meeting date is set for Wednesday.
Later, driving home, I start sounding out Wednesday (in Spanish) and it has kind of a nice sound to it. I say it out loud a few times (no one is in the car) and I think I have it down. Me air co lees.
When I get home, no kids are there, and Rae asks me if I stopped at Publix and got what I was supposed to get. I say no, which she doesn't accept graciously. So I grind out 'me air co lees' with a little emphasis. "What did you say?", she asks. I repeat it a little louder, with a lot more emphasis.
ME AIR CO LEES!!!
Rae says, "Don't you say that to me!"
"What? What, did I say? That doesn't mean anything"
"You know what you said."
One of the kids comes home, and I asked Marsha if 'me air co lees' didn't mean Wednesday? The trick here was to not be standing too close to Rae, at least not within pinching distance.
A little later I hear Rae ask Marsha if 'me air co lees' really did mean Wednesday and Marsha assured her it did.
But I did get my pinch later, after she cooked up something to justify it.
